Working with messy 'life facing' data is the most fulfilling, considering most of my time is spent indoors in front of computer monitors. Especially so if I get to see my work impact physical industry (or if its purely internet, at least ensuring numbers are high enough).
Me
I unintentionally rotate between a couple of masks depending on mood/inhibition. Takes me about 15-60 minutes to switch and I don't always get to choose the one I wear for the next few hours:
- 0: Eccentric, eclectic, curious
- 1: Aloof, facetious
- 2: Boisterous, pragmatic
The only constants between all three are: extraversion, operating on amusement (not discipline, ever).
Now
Doctoral student, Data Science.
I'm pretty good at school! After half a decade of working full time I decided to go back for a terminal degree.
Data Scientist:
- Part time role focused on prescriptive suggestions in agriculture logistics.
Graduate Assistant:
- I teach an intro to data science course
- Research in a security lab (slack chat with some compute clusters on prem. we publish sometimes).
- Lead maintainer, Data Science AI Lab
- Point of contact, Data Science & AI Club
2 part time jobs + full time coursework = 70~ hours before any extracurriculars. Sometimes I think I'd prefer to just work 40 weekly after undergrad often, but I figure I should take advantage of my energy levels before I get any older.
